It is said that the survey did not yet reflect public opinion on the controversy over Alvarez’s extra-marital affair. It created a stir in the House of Representatives in late March after his feud with fellow Davao del Norte Rep. Antonio Floirendo Jr. The survey was conducted a week earlier when he supports the impeachment plan for Leni Robredo and even encourages people not to call her Vice President because he’s not sure if she really wins the 2016 Vice Presidential elections.

[VIDEO]: Two lawmakers believe that the admission by House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez of his extramarital affair adds more doubt over his ability to maintain his hold on the House speakership.
Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez doesn’t seem to mind the extra-marital scandal that he himself discloses. He receives words of comfort from allies who praise his “competent leadership and strong political acumen.” This is after his satisfaction rating rose by two points per the recent survey of the Social Weather Stations or SWS. From a net satisfaction rating of +10 in December, Speaker Alvarez’s score slightly rises to +12 in April.
Support for Alvarez
In congress, his peers express support for the brutally frank Speaker. He avoids media talks since he confesses that he has a mistress. The president says that aside from having the right to have many wives since he’s not a Catholic, he has already separated from his wife.
Under the Speaker’s leadership, the House is effective in passing vital measures for the people’s socioeconomic development, safety and security, and well-being. He certainly knows where and how to lead the House. Thus the reason why priority agenda is fully accomplished, said Deputy Speaker Gwendolyn Garcia of Cebu.
Robredo’s Truth Generates Hate
Leni Robredo, on the other hand, insists on telling the truth that made Alvarez check on a possible impeachment complaint against her – but is later discouraged by the president. She has used her religion in her messages during the Holy Week but that made most Filipinos hate her more. Especially when she refuses to pay the P11 M initial deposit to get the recount going in contrast to Bongbong Marcos’ timely move – despite paying more at P36 M.
