Bam Aquino is More Troubled in 2017 over Marcos and Russia?

Senator Paolo Benigno Aquino IV or popularly known as Bam Aquino says that the government should clarify its position on foreign affairs. He gives its conflicting statements over the alliance with Russia and America. This is on top of his disappointments over Marcos burial and President Rodrigo Duterte’s announcement of Bongbong Marcos as New VP in China.

Disappointed Senators

Bam Aquino is joined by Senators Kiko Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros and Vice President Leni Robredo in expressing their disappointments during the Marcos burial in the Heroes’ Cemetery before the year ends in 2016. They ask for the President’s explanation why this is permitted. The Supreme Court and the Solicitor General in the Philippine Military answered their inquiries. No laws prohibit the decision of the President Duterte.

Furious over New VP Announcement

Senator Aquino also cannot hide that he is troubled with the President’s announcement of Bongbong Marcos as the new VP – if he wins the electoral protest. Speculations arise that Marcos will receive the same votes from the SC as his father’s burial case.

Foreign Policy Clarification

Senator Bam Aquino additionally asks the Senate to conduct an inquiry into the foreign policy direction of President Rodrigo Duterte to allegedly protect the country’s national interest. He files Senate Resolution Number 158, saying that there is a need for the government to clarify its position.

The Arrival of Russian Warships

Philippine Navy public affairs officer Lued Lincuna says that the Russian visit is for future joint exercises is under discussion. Russian Navy Rear Adm. Eduard Mikhailov confirms that they will be conducting joint exercises with Philippine forces to fight maritime piracy and terrorism.
