Bongbong Marcos Best to Handle Sabah Claim: MILF and MNLF are with Malaysia-Philippines is for the Sultanate of Sulu

Bongbong Marcos

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Not all Muslims in the autonomous region of Mindanao belong to the Royal Sultanate of Sulu that owns Sabah. The MILF and the MNLF that are always threatening the government got nothing to do with the Sultanate. The Sultanate is also not in favor of the separation of the ARMM from the Philippines. Bongbong Marcos has full knowledge of the sovereignty of the country over Sabah and the connivance between the Malaysians with the MILF and MNLF. He questions Pnoy’s Bangsamoro law why it favors the Malaysians. He drafted his version of it that would cater the demands of the rebels without giving up the ownership of our lands.

Lahad Datu Standoff Tells the World that the Philippines Owns Sabah

Legally speaking, Sabah is on lease to Malaysia with payments released from the Malaysian Embassy in the Philippines to the Sultanate of Sulu. Just before the Lahad Datu standoff, the Sultanate demanded its return thus,  not accepting the rent anymore. Like his father, Pnoy turns away from the Sultanate’s men and endangered his own people in the hands of the Malaysian authorities. This is despite Bongbong Marcos’ plea to help these Filipinos in the standoff and deal with the Sabah claim later.

Personal Knowledge

Unlike the MILF and MNLF, the Royal Sultanate of Sulu has humble headquarters in Zamboanga and Taguig. A big bulk of their descendants is still in Sulu. Some relations of the Royal Family live overseas (the U.S., Sabah, and Brunei) and in Manila. Princess Roro for one resides in Pasig. She is already a Christian like her mother. Datu Sayed, son of then Crown Prince Agbimuddin Kiram led the planning of the royal army’s return to Lahad Datu. Jamalul Kiram II’s younger brother Ismael Kiram II is the self-proclaimed reigning Sultan after his death.

Bongbong Marcos in the Present Administration

Bongbong Marcos who’s electoral protest against Vice President Leni Robredo is still under way cannot hold a cabinet position yet as desired by the president. This is due to the one-year ban imposed on defeated election candidates. Although Senator Allan Peter Cayetano is assumed to be replacing Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay, it might be helpful to create another Cabinet Position like the Office of Policy Planning and Coordination on Territory and Sovereignty in Japan. This Territorial Integrity Office can be a possible cabinet post for Bongbong Marcos. He is the perfect public servant to deal with the Sabah, Spratly’s and Scarborough Shoal issues.

Sabah Claim, a Thorn in Malaysia-Philippines Relations?

If the Sabah claim hurts the Malaysia-Philippines relations then be it. It is not nationalistic enough to die as slaves in one’s own country. 7,000 deportees more from Sabah? This adds up to the many deportees already in the past. The Malaysians are actually into a big surprise. They can never get rid of Filipinos in Sabah totally. They might disguise themselves as Malaysians but in their hearts, they are Filipinos forever. Therefore if the Malaysians will not return Sabah, chaos in Mindanao will never stop since they use the MILF and MNLF to create troubles to hold the president in the neck not to support the Royal Sultanate of Sulu’s Sabah claim. Why do you think Malaysians are very confident to offer to help in the peace-keeping efforts in Mindanao? It’s because – they created the trouble!
