Ombudsman Conchita-Carpio Morales is buying time when she says that the Mamasapano investigation involving Pnoy’s liability is not forgotten. She will investigate it. It can be this year, or next year prior to the end of her term in 2018.

[VIDEO] Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales says her office will address the complaint against former president Benigno Aquino III over his role in the Mamasapano clash before she steps down in 2018.
In July 2015, the Ombudsman recommends the filing of administrative and criminal charges against 11 police officers. The National Police chief Director General Alan Purisima and his men are charged in connection with the Mamasapano clash. Aquino is however absolved of criminal liability.
Binay Criticizes the Result
The fact-finding team concludes then there was not enough evidence to hold the former President accountable for the lapses in the operation. Then Vice President Jejomar Binay criticizes the findings for excluding Aquino as the commander in chief of the said operation.
Bongbong Marcos on Mamasapano Probe
Bongbong Marcos believes that reopening the Mamasapano probe will provide justice to the widows and loved ones of the slain police officers. He believes undisclosed information on the Mamasapano incident must be made public.
Morales’ Move under the Duterte Administration
Ombudsman Morales is not anymore under the power of her Liberal Party that installs her in the position. She is challenged by the fact that she can betray Pnoy with the pressures under the Duterte administration. Now, Marcos and Binay who are in Duterte’s alliance as the oppositions against the Liberal Party is making sure that she acts according to what she is paid for.
