Robredo Need Not Be Scared for Bongbong Marcos to be DILG Head

Just recently, the president announces through various media that Bongbong Marcos is not interested with the DILG post. Initially, it is rumored that he is about to replace DILG Secretary Ismael Sueno who immediately concedes after hearing the rumor. However, Marcos is not only after any position in the cabinet. It seems that he is determined to finally regain the VP post allegedly stolen from him no matter how long it takes.

Preliminary Conference Filing

Marcos presses on with his quest to know the truth with the filing of an ex-parte motion to set the case for preliminary conference. The motion is very important for PET to dispose of this incident with such high dispatch and urgency so that the case comes into motion. “The importance of our ex-parte motion is to get the ground running for our election protest and we expect them to come up with a date for the preliminary conference,” he said.

Dates and Facts Determined in the Preliminary Conference

At a preliminary conference, both parties must stipulate on facts and documents to simplify the issues. The number of witnesses is shortlisted. The fastest way for the retrieval of ballot boxes, election returns, certificates of canvass and other election materials involved in the election protest and other matters are verified that they may aid in the prompt treatment of the electoral protest.

Manual Count is Highlighted

Manual counts are tedious and  takes a lot of time – but if this clarify all doubts pertaining in the alleged fraudulent election then, they are worth it. It is a bit obvious why the Marcos camp pushes for this and agrees to pay for the logistics cost. Meanwhile, Robredo’s camp tries everything including media bluffs just to delay the process.
