Russian forces are seen actively participating in fighting ISIS but they are suspected that their interest is in either  oust or preserve the Assad leadership  and China is being seen trying to tail the Russians or doing the same.

Beijing and Damascus finally agreed publicly that the Chinese military will have closer ties with Syria, and provide humanitarian aid and other assistance to the civil war torn nation. this was disclosed by a high-ranking People’s Liberation Army officer saying that the training of Syrian personnel by Chinese instructors has also been discussed thoroughly discussed and noted by Xinhua.

China was seen undermining the Middle Eastern diplomacy and left it to the other permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, such as the United States, Britain, France and Russia, while still depending on the region for oil supplies. But that changed lately, because China has been trying to get more involved and went as far as  sending envoys to help push for a diplomatic resolution to the violence there plus hosting Syrian government and opposition figures as reported by Reuters.

China will never side with the the US with all their conflicts in trade, finance and lately the South China Sea UN ruling but it has confirmed that Chinese envoy, Guan met a Russian general in Damascus, as Xinhua reported giving speculations that they are strengthening their alliance against the allied superpowers headed by America.

China’s special envoy has shown admiration in April and praised Russia’s military role in the war as the it spearheaded the bombing campaign there in September 2015 to March 2016. Russia at this point in time still has some of its forces providing humanitarian and military assistance to Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government – same as the Chinese.
