Comelec to Incur Financial Liability to Marcos while Robredo Strikes Out Record

liability

PET orders Comelec to make an actual list of expenses. Costs that may incur in using the election machines for the recount of votes. This is required in Bongbong Marcos’ electoral protest against Robredo. It is not certain if this is an additional financial liability to the P66.2 million initial deposits put upon Marcos earlier or not. In the process, Robredo also submits a plea to the tribunal to strike out the motion of Marcos to dismiss her counter-protest because she has already paid the initial deposit.

[VIDEO]: The Supreme Court, sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal, orders the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to submit an itemized cost it may be required to pay following the automated elections.

Ready for Itemized Cost

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) shows their readiness to comply with the order of the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET). It’s not a problem to submit a detailed list of costs it may be required to pay using the automated system. This can be another burden on Marcos’ part for the poll protest he filed against Robredo. Justice becomes very costly these days.

Fees for Election Machines

PET requires the Comelec to make a report on the actual amount it may incur. That pertains to the use of the election machines in the recount. This is necessary because the May 2016 election results cast doubts among Filipino voters. The PCOS machines were basically tampered with at one point.

Financial Liability disputes

Robredo’s lawyer, Macalintal also argues that Marcos should pay P185 million. He said that this is to cover all 369,138 established precincts within the 92,509 clustered precincts. The PET’s P66.2 million order covers a total of 132,446 established precincts. They are within the 39,221 clustered precincts that Marcos questioned.

Election Integrity

Philippine elections are always assumed to be dirty. Pastor Boy Saycon, however, said that the 2016 election is the dirtiest ever. He’s the one who informed the president first about some anomalies. His evidence proves fraudulent activities done by the Liberal Party. Allegedly to favor their candidates especially Robredo. This triggered Marcos to file the electoral protest to restore democracy. As the Filipinos demanded – they want the people’s choice and not the PCOS choice!
