Vice President Leni Robredo tells the small crowd during the 31st EDSA anniversary gathering that Filipinos should not despair in the midst of the “evil that is happening.” People power, she said can happen again. Perhaps not to her wishes to turn the people against Marcos but against her and the Liberal Party. The lousy turn out of only around 7,000 compared to the approximately half a million supporters of the administration at Quirino grandstand says it all.

Repeating False History
Robredo again repeats the false history about the martial law that she wants to believe. She did not mention at all about the progress in infrastructure, economy, health sector, land reform, and discipline. It is obvious that she only aims to discredit the late president Ferdinand E. Marcos to make her political party look good.
Blocking Marcos Heirs
Her obsession with Bongbong Marcos is second to none. She is still the insecure VP as what she was before. The shy provincial lady during her college days in Manila. How could she relate Marcos’ heirs to her accusations to their patriarch? This only shows how scared she is that it’s only a matter of time that Bongbong Marcos assumes the Vice Presidency and evicts her.

Tyranny is not of Marcos
Marcos has always been with the real democracy just like the President’s democratic federal platform. If there’s a dictator in this country, it is the late Cory Aquino. The Aquinos never what the people vote for. The Liberal Party cannot accept defeat as well and continue to attack the president. They take care of the rich more than the poor and blame the Marcoses for it?
Not to Forget but to Correct Facts about Martial Law
Now VP Leni Robredo knows that it is possible to stop anti-administration leaders through people power. Robredo is a critic of the killings amid the administration’s war on drugs. She speaks frequently against the President’s attitude towards human rights and strongly protests the hero’s burial for Marcos last year. In her speech, she once again she reviews all her unfounded accusations against the Marcoses. Corrupt, dictator, abuser of power, disrespectful to human rights and more. However, she forgets that she topples democracy by not giving in to the leader who is elected by the majority of the people. Poverty is also one of her main concerns but unlike former Vice President Jejomar Binay, she only uses her office to criticize the president instead of initiating anti-poverty measures as what her predecessor did. She has the nerve to call on the president to address the country’s major problems but forgets that she is the VP who has the power to do something if she really wants to help.
