Facebook Does Not Care If You Are Anti Or Pro Marcos Journalist – Blocking Is Due To Numerous Reports

Marcos

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

There was a big fuzz about writer and activist Inday Espina-Varona being blocked on Facebook recently,  after reaching out to the social network to raise some issues about online abuse. The truth is, Facebook does not care if you are anti or pro-Marcos. It is their responsibility to ensure that Facebook remains a wholesome tool for daily use. Therefore, if you get into the nerves of too many people, you get reported. Political issues are sensitive to handle and you can never impose your belief on others. Therefore, to be safe, share only to like-minded groups to prevent people from getting annoyed as they see your posts on your wall.

Your Wall Is Public If you Set it as Such

Even if you restrict your posts only through your wall at Facebook, it is still public. Many of your friends will not agree with your own opinion, whether you are pro or anti-Marcos. It is, however, evident that there are more pro-Marcos on social media as it is in real life. So, anti-Marcos should learn how to respect the preference of others by sharing their political thoughts discretely and not directly on Facebook walls.

Create Groups or Join Groups at Facebook

The best thing to do to avoid being blocked generated by the many reports against you is to join or create like-minded groups. This way, you will not annoy many people. It is always a risk to contribute to Freedom groups for your political agenda but as they say, number counts. It just depends on how many admins who are pro or anti-Marcos.

Freedom of Speech must not Undermine Respect

We all enjoy the freedom of speech but it does not give us the permission to disrespect others. It is okay to express anger and disgust but language profanity should not be tolerated. Perhaps some journalists must polish their style to be more passionate than being defensive. Google Algorithm dictates that authorship is required for the shared material. This means that no matter which side you are on as long as you are in the right online communities and carrying your legal name that is verifiable – then you are safe from being blocked instead of using aliases.

Bongbong Marcos’ Support is Getting Stronger Elsewhere

Bongbong Marcos is the name to beat not just on Facebook but elsewhere. Many people now realized that the Marcos era was really the golden regime. This is a fact as per Google Analytics showing data that the name Bongbong Marcos is most sought-after online which is basically the same in real life! Mind you, he has no power over Facebook but the high number of pro-Marcos followers do.
