Imee Marcos is Smart to Avoid Binay-Like Character Assassination

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

The yellow faction knows it very well how effective their character assassination stint against former Vice President Jejomar Binay was. Even until now that the accusations against him already went kaput in court, some people remain brainwashed and still call him a thief. This time, another popular target is the budding Governor Imee Marcos. It is just ironic for Rep. Rudy Fariñas to ask; what is she afraid of? As if he does not know.

Character Assassination

Character Assassination is a dirty political maneuver that discredits the target for life in most cases. The Marcos siblings are used to this kind of game. They hear many people calling their father a dictator even if he was the best president the Philippines ever had. Their mother is more popular with her collection of shoes and vaguely any mention about the hospitals, schools, and cultural centers she helped build.

Bongbong Marcos’ Sympathy to Binay

During the 2016 Presidential election, it was very distinguished that Bongbong Marcos never condemned Binay’s rumored corruption allegations. He quickly assessed those as politically motivated. He has the wisdom of a good man indeed unlike the millions of Filipinos who were quick enough to judge Binay.

Next Victim

Sure enough, the next target is Bongbong Marcos’ sister, Gov. Imee Marcos. He gives similar brotherly advice as what initially thought on Binay’s case. This is for her not to give them the satisfaction to feast over her humiliation on July 25, 2017, which is the upcoming scheduled hearing on the Ilocos Norte tobacco excise tax used to purchase vehicles for the farmers.

Social Media Helps

Gone were the days that people just rely on the mainstream media to get the truth on matters pertaining to the government or politics. It has been proven many times that most of these media are biased. Responsible journalism is also questioned. Therefore the masses learned to resort to social media to pour in their sentiments. Now that it is flooded with the true feelings of the people, yellow supporters call them trolls. So, what kind of truth does Fariñas want to know? For sure, Ilocos Norte remembers.
