Senator Escudero’s plea makes sense when he said that for the last 30 years, the nation has been divided because of the Marcos-Aquino rivalry. We should now allow time for healing by burying the late strongman where he belongs.

Senator Hontiveros continues her advocacy for being the voice of the 10,000 alleged martial law victims and cannot accept that the former president will be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. She files the resolution against it thus, prompting the voting.
Bam Aquino Ashamed of Aquino-Marcos Conflict as Cause for the Burial Issue
Bam Aquino contested Escudero’s views that the Marcos burial is just an Aquino-Marcos conflict that must be forgotten to unite the country. Making amends should make the country move forward, implies Escudero but disputed by Aquino.

In Favor: Aquino, De Lima, Drilon, Pimentel, Poe, Villanueva and Pangilinan.
Not in Favor: Gordon, Honasan, Lacson, Pacquiao, Sotto and Villar.
Abstained: Angara, Binay, Escudero, Gatchalian, Recto and Subiri.
20 present majority is 11 only 8 votes are in favor of Hontiveros’ resolution. Therefore, no conclusion was made if in favor of the resolution not to bury Marcos at the Heroes’ cemetery or not.
