Former Vice President Jejomar Binay supported and campaigned for granting house arrest to former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
He was also at the burial of Arroyo’s brother despite the Aquino administration’s quest to lock her up for good. This is how politics should be. Lots of compassion.

[VIDEO]: Ex-VP Jejomar Binay was one of the first people giving condolences to former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo during the burial of her brother, Arturo Macapagal.
Former President and now-Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was at the Heritage Park in Taguig City for her brother Arturo’s wake. She was greeted by her daughter, Luli, and former Vice President Jejomar Binay.
Alliance with Arroyo’s Party
Binay’s principle of being friends with everybody surely did not exclude Arroyo. At that time, he was in between two rocks; Pnoy and Arroyo. But as a human rights lawyer, giving a nod to Arroyo’s house arrest weighed heavier than the other option. The video also proves that UNA has an alliance with PGMA’s PDP Laban. The same as now President Rodrigo Duterte. Duterte supporters should also know that Binay was one of his supporters despite the rivalry. They vowed to topple the Kiberal Party during the last election. They emerged victorious.
Binay Bears Too Much Humiliations but still Calm
Yes, the good Binay can also be furious but never abusive in his language. He is a calm person by nature and has abundant patience. His heart is into public service. Those works for the people are now being continued by his daughters Senator Nancy Binay and Makati Mayor Abby Binay plus the rest.
Never add more pain to a Person’s Sufferings
It is evident that Binay believes that not making himself a contributor to other people’s agony is noble. There are many instances that he could have gotten back to his political enemies. But he ends up choosing the best actions. To be a comforter even to his enemies. His transition to now Vice President Leni Robredo was the kindest ever. The Binays even urges the public not to throw “below the belt” attacks to Senator Leila de Lima. And of course, his undeniable friendship and support to Arroyo when she was still in detention. The world is indeed round.
