In an interview with CNN Philippines, Political analyst Dindo Manhit said that “it’s not good” that President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo could not find the time to talk, despite the fact that they had promoted inclusivity during the campaign. “We need, at this time, to really move forward as a nation. We need President Duterte to take a lead on that and, hopefully, that they (Duterte, Robredo) can find time to sit down and move forward and forget about the bickering,” Manhit said as quoted by CNN.
Manhit even mentioned the sight of Bongbong Marcos during the President’s recent inauguration where his own V.P., Leni Robredo was not invited. Perhaps, Manhit did not know that prior to the inauguration date, the two were already scheduled to meet but Robredo has to cancel upon receiving an invitation to Japan for an official visit.
Supporters of Marcos and Robredo may be divided in Manhit’s unity call – because the truth must be disclosed first before embracing reality that it was indeed Robredo who won the VP race. Nevertheless, this is an exciting scenario to watch and it is certain that Duterte once again would do something interesting to resolve this case.
