[VIDEO]: Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr says he has nothing to do with the corruption allegations raised by the wife of Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista.
Don’t Blame Bongbong Marcos
Don’t look at former Senator Bongbong Marcos if you are looking for suspects behind the bombshell dropped by Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista’s estranged wife. She alleges that she stumbled upon at least P1 billion unexplained wealth of the man who presided over the 2016 elections. This can be her way to get her legal share of 50% from the “clean” assets denied to her by his spouse and family. Such case is not rare in the country. This should serve as a lesson to husbands out there that a wife can fight despite the media hurdle.
“I’m watching what you are reporting. That’s all I know. The Palace can confirm that’s not true,” Marcos said when asked about the speculations that he had helped Patricia Paz-Bautista get an appointment with the President. Two meetings took place: first, with just her and her lawyer; and on August 1, with Bautista himself, whom Du30 talked to in a separate room. Chairman Bautista even thinks that he acted like a marriage counselor.
Some conspiracy theorists said that Marcos or his camp may have encouraged Mrs. Bautista to bring down her husband. This can taint the outcome of the 2016 elections, where Marcos had filed a protest. His electoral protest against Vice President Leni Robredo, who won by only 200,000 votes is going to the next phase which is the recount included in the second part as decided by the Supreme Court instead of the first part. The SC was worried that other positions will be put in question as well especially those victories with very slim margins.
Wrong Political Force
Marcos said that the Palace can attest that neither he nor his wife Atty. Liza Araneta-Marcos had helped Patricia Bautista to make contact with the President. On the alleged speculations, the evidence doesn’t lie. So, might as well start digging now to address the alleged election rigging.
