Arriving early on for the Presidential Inauguration of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte are his direct family members – from the two special women of his life: The ex-wife and the common-law wife.
CNN Philippines reported: Duterte’s ex-wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman, touched down at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) before noontime — along with their eldest son, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, and grandchildren. Later in the afternoon, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio also landed. Only 150 guests had been invited to the June 30 inaugural — composed of campaign donors and select supporters. Veronica or “Kitty,” Duterte’s youngest child by common-law wife Honeylet Avanceña, is set to hold the Bible to be used in the oath-taking ceremony. The Bible belonged to Duterte’s late mother, Soledad.
The expected awkwardness between the two women may not happen anymore since they already knew and accepted their role in the President’s life. Simple as it is, they will be feasting over mongo, maruya and buko juice plus other Filipino delights come inauguration day tomorrow, June 30, 2016.
