In the last six years of outgoing President Benigno Simeon Aquino III’s term, we can only hear him blaming the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo for all the shortcomings in his administration – but he gleefully claimed the credit for the rising economy situation of the Philippines that is the expertise and achievement of the past government.
As published in the Manila Times: “Arroyo is the economist and leader who passed the policy reforms that paved the way for the revival and resurgence of the Philippine economy. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) says so. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says so. The World Bank (WB) says so. And the credit-rating agencies also say as much.”
Pnoy has been so insecure with PGMA’s existence that he has to continuously ruin her reputation and put her on hospital arrest just to keep her quiet. However, that manipulation by Aquino would soon be over as President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s term is about to start, Arroyo’s ally.
