Vice President Leni Robredo had no declaration that something is missing from her luggage. However, she has asked the MIAA to investigate the incident and also Cathay Pacific to explain why the two luggage were damaged.

The incident happened during Robredo’s itinerary for two weeks attending a women’s event in Thailand and speaking at a conference sponsored by the National Federation of Filipino-American Associations in the United States – returning from the United States via Hong Kong, arriving at the Naia Terminal 3.

Robredo’s two pieces of luggage were actually delivered to her office without delay from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) but with a lot of scratches and dents, as described by her security aide Lt. Danilo Vidad. he also added that there are marks indicating that someone forced them to open but failed.

MIAA intelligence and access management department manager Arnulfo Junio, sais that the agency has already investigated the matter from its end, finding that the damage did not happen inside the Naia. The agency reviewed the closed-circuit television footage in the baggage handling area from the Cathay Pacific flight and there was nothing unusual. In fact, the luggage was treated as a priority and transported without delay.
