SC: Leni Robredo must answer Bongbong Marcos’s protest, or else…

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Lawyer of vice President Leni Robredo, Romulo Macalintal is again proven to be bias with his client when the Supreme Court, that was acting as Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), ordered Vice President Leni Robredo to reply to the electoral protest filed by former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. – contrary to his statement that Robredo is not inclined to answer such protest because her name was not even mentioned in Marco’s electoral protest.

The deadline is after 10 days of receiving summons or else the court cannot verify admissions and denials – and may have to schedule for decision. Robredo already denied earlier through the media that she did not cheat and urged Marcos to prove his allegations which he did in the proper forum.

Adding to that, the high court also issued a precautionary protection order for the Commission on Elections to preserve the integrity of all election materials effective immediately.

Vice presidential candidate filed the electoral protest last June 29, for the PET to challenge the election victory of Robredo.

It was remembered that Marcos initially asked the tribunal to stop the proclamation of Robredo until the case is resolved but the proclamation pushed through but President Rodrigo Duterte did not show up in the joint proclamation. The inauguration of the President and his Vice President was also held separately.

Robredo won at very slim margin with 14,418,817 votes while Marcos was tailing next with 14,155,344 votes which prompted the protest since various groups including Iglesia ni Kristo with massive followers nationwide complained in search of their missing votes.
