As the head of the Presidential Management Staff, SAP Bong Go who is running for Senator goes over thousands of letters for the President. He then passes them on to various agencies in the executive department. This is not meddling but reassuring the public that their concerns are acted upon by Du30. Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento also shares the same sentiment with the public. His principles are in line with the current administration. The latest of which is the aviation safety that he tries to secure for travelers.

Bong Go’s Integrity
Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, one of those who attended the hearing and a longtime friend of SAP Go, vouched for his integrity during a Senate hearing on the frigate case. Zubiri told the Senate defense and national security committee headed by Senator Gregorio Honasan that when Go was the personal assistant to Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Du30 previously, he never heard of any complaint against Go concerning money.
Strengthening the Civil Aviation Authority
The House Committee on Government Enterprises and Privatization and the House Committee on Transportation have jointly directed the creation of a technical working group (TWG) that would fine-tune a bill seeking to strengthen the powers of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP). However, lawmakers are still debating on the proper steps to be taken for this matter.
Cong. Cesar Sarmiento’s Security Plea
The TWG will be headed by Samar Rep. Edgar Mary Sarmiento, vice chairman of the House Committee on Transportation. House Bill 7407, principally authored by Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez calls for the abolition of the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) and transfer its current functions to the CAAP. Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento, chairman of the House Committee on Transportation, said HB 7407 aims to implement reforms to further enhance the potentials of the aviation industry.
Senator Antonio Trillanes’ accusation that Go meddled in the frigate deal for personal gain fell flat. No less than Vice Adm. Ronald Joseph Mercado, former Navy flag officer in command, exonerated the presidential aide. Besides, it was already a done deal even before Du30 assumes office. All these transportation problems may it be by land or by air are still ongoing. It is very obvious that the Philippines needs public servants in the likes of Bong Go and Cong. Cesar Sarmiento that would push strategies that would safeguard the welfare of the people. May it be as a Senator, Cabinet Secretary or Governor of Catanduanes.
