[VIDEO]: The net worth of Vice President Leni Robredo shrunk by more than P2 million after six months in office, based on her latest Statement of Assets, Liabilities and New Worth (SALN).
Vice President Leni Robredo has P2 million less after six months in office. Her SALN from the Office of the Ombudsman shows that her net worth in December 2016 was at P8,878,11.43. In June last year, it was P11,053,138. The new net worth of the vice president is computed from the declared assets of P15,778,11.43 less her liabilities worth P6.9 million.
Declining Cash on Hand
Robredo has two residential lots and a house in Naga City listed as real properties. She also has three agricultural lots in Naga City, an orchard in Pascol, also in Naga, and a memorial lot donated in 2012. These are all worth P1,735,000. The VP’s cash on hand basically dropped from P11,115,138 in June to P8,940,111.43 in December last year.
Unused Campaign Funds
The president, meanwhile, is at the receiving end. He declared the remaining cash donations that were not used during the presidential campaign. It is required by law to declare it and pay the 10% tax which he religiously complied.
Buried in Debts
Perhaps Robredo is true to her vow that she would block Bongbong Marcos from the VP post even if she is going to be buried in debts. How could the highest election spender not able to secure some funds on the side for the continous fight? Undoubtedly, the Liberal Party for sure has many connections from the rich sector that could lend her some money to make her promise a reality. After all, Marcos will not be easy on her unlike during the polls.
