Presidential ally Senator Tito Sotto explains his take on the president’s way of getting rid of some government officials. He thinks that Du30 believes in that if there’s smoke, there’s fire. Investigations are under way. Concrete evidence is undertaken to come up with such decisions, he said. The president is tough. That’s a fact. How much more to retired Davao City cop Arturo Lascañas who implicates him in the Davao Death squad? He can only run.

[VIDEO]: The decision of retired Davao City cop Arturo Lascañas to leave the country amid threats of a lawsuit proves that his allegations against the President are “unfounded,” Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III said.
Bad for Government
Sotto said that to allow Lascañas to flee is bad for the government.” He is about to face serious charges yet he can leave,” Sotto said. There’s no worry on Lascañas’ guilt because he admits it. It’s his action to avoid confrontations on his two conflicting testimonies that bothers Sotto. Actually, three if media statements that differ from the first two are included, he noted.
Lascañas Claims are Unfounded
The witness’s departure just shows that his allegations against the president are unfounded, Sotto added. Lascañas, a retired Davao City cop, divulges that the so-called Davao Death Squad or DDS exists. They were allegedly paid up to P100,000 by then city mayor, Du30. The pay varies according to their target. He also admits to had something to do with the killings of almost 200 people that include Jun Pala, a broadcaster.
Lascañas travels to Singapore last Saturday because he receives threats of criminal charges against him. Some people are allegedly looking for him. He says that he either goes to jail or die once he returns home – so it is still a guessing game if he returns or not.
Will He Return?
Bureau of Immigration spokesperson Antonette Mangrobang confirms that Lascañas presents to immigration officers a plane ticket his return flight on April 22 to Manila as required. It remains to be seen if he will really take that flight back or just let it expire.
One does not have to be a psychologist to conclude that Senator Antonio Trillanes IV’s story is a bluff. He alleged that church people approach him for retired SPO3 Arthur Lascañas’ confession. Lascañas reverses his testimony in a press conference that Davao Death Squad does not exist. Now, he implicates the president with it after some sort of re-awakening, according to Trillanes. This just comes very timely with Senator Leila de Lima’s arrest. Quite a distraction really which is a must that the administration hints for a possible cabinet position for Bongbong Marcos if not yet the Vice Presidency.

[VIDEO]: MANILA – Senator Antonio Trillanes IV revealed that a Catholic priest approached him to facilitate the presentation of retired SPO3 Arthur Lascañas to the public.
Trillanes is a Notable Liar
People already know that Trillanes is a notable liar. In fact, he is only out on bail for his libel case against Former Vice President Jejomar Binay. He might have succeeded in ruining Binay’s chances to become president but now, the Liberal Party is being punished with Du30’s reign. It is not a secret that the president wants to install Bongbong Marcos immediately as soon as he wins the electoral protest against VP Leni Robredo. The public knows that Liberal Party members will do everything to block that.
Lascañas Lost His Credibility
A witness cannot swear under oath for one testimony and swear again under oath to reverse it. He can be charged with perjury for that describes as the offense of willfully telling an untruth in a court after having taken an oath or affirmation. Senator Richard Gordon does not support the DDS re-investigation saying that in any case, the witness lies one way or the other and senators would not know which one to believe.
When it’s true that in one point in people’s lives, one can be guilt-stricken and wishes, to tell the truth, for a clear conscience. In Lascañas’ case, the timing is just so right. The time when by De Lima’s imprisonment confronts Liberal Party members. Trillanes can even follow as the hint from the pro-administration supporters at the Quirino Grandstand Freedom rally is known. They respond after DOJ Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II asks the people who would they want to go to jail next to De Lima?
Attacks on the President are for Bongbong Marcos
The Liberal Party’s biggest concern is actually not the president but his loyalty with Bongbong Marcos. Vice President Leni Robredo, Loida Nicolas Lewis, Raissa Robles, and even Pnoy himself express their aim to block Marcos from the executive office. Since they know by experience that the president can influence Marcos’ takeover, they have to start now to discourage that. Unfortunately for them, few people power-like attempts ultimately fail. The “Bihomadu” or the Binay, Honasan, Marcos and Du30 alliance is too large and influential for them to beat. This is evident in the official EDSA celebration on February 24 and the Freedom Rally at the Luneta on the 25th.
Senator Leila De Lima once said that Malacañang is in a “panic mode” that it call some senators after the majority voted to proceed with the Senate probe on the President’s alleged links to the so-called Davao Death Squad or DDS. That happens at the beginning of the week. Before the weekends, De Lima becomes the allegedly first political prisoner under the present administration, said Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno. He is a human rights lawyer who chairs the Free Legal Assistance Group or FLAG. DOJ Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II denies this. He confirms that there’s probable cause for the illegal drugs crime committed by De Lima that involves drug lords at the Bilibid prison while she was DOJ Secretary.

[VIDEO]: The Senate voted on Tuesday to give retired Senior Police Officer 3 Arturo Lascañas, the leader of the so-called Davao Death Squad (DDS), another chance to appear at the investigating body probing the extrajudicial killings.
De Lima expresses her belief that there are efforts to stop the probe on confessed DDS leader retired SPO3 Arturo Lascañas’ allegations that the President paid the group to kill criminals when he was mayor of Davao City. The detained senator said that they are in a panic mode. She added that they are shocked that there the senators, who they expected to vote against the hearing on Lascañas, abstained instead.
Leila De Lima is the First Political Detainee of the President?
Diokno speaks to reporters shortly after a judge of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court issues the arrest warrant on Senator Leila De Lima for allegedly orchestrating the drug trade at the New Bilibid Prison when she was in Aguirre’s position. Upon hearing that De Lima describe herself as the first political detainee of the administration, Chel Diokno congratulated her, as her case would emphasize how the current dispensation had been disrespecting people’s rights. This calls for legal arguments because it depends on who the media interviews.
Diokno is one of de Lima’s lawyers. He had filed on her behalf a writ of habeas data to test the presidential immunity of the President. This is over his sexual harassment and threats against the lady senator. Diokno is the son of the late nationalist and democracy icon, Sen. Jose “Ka Pepe” Diokno.” He was among the opposition leaders detained by the late president Ferdinand Marcos when he declared martial law in September 1972.
Who else is Going to Prison?
If the Palace panic results to the arrest of a political detainee, then who else is next? Should the president be affected still with the Davao Death squad accusations when it even made him win as president? Perhaps it’s time to dig deeper on where PDu30 is coming from. Perhaps it is necessary to think, act, and talk like a criminal to find the real culprits.
What does the president get for being a supporter of Bongbong Marcos? Character assassination like ex-VP Jejomar Binay through Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and just recently, ground for impeachment over the old Davao death squad case. These are all subject for investigations but it can be felt by the people that the anti-administration players are working double time just to cripple the president thereby stopping him to install Marcos to power.

[VIDEO]: President Rodrigo Duterte says Senator Antonio Trillanes is a coward and a crook for accusing him of corruption. He says he’ll resign if Trillanes can prove he has billions in bank accounts.
Ready to Resign
The president said that if Senator Antonio Trillanes IV can prove in court his accusations about the president’s bank accounts with billions of pesos, the President will resign immediately. The senator has to prove that he amassed P2 billion illegally or if his bank account has a total deposit at one time of even just half a billion pesos, he will leave his post. He also advises the senator to go to court and file the proper case against him – not just talk.
Trillanes has Nothing to Lose
However, the president has accusations to make as well against Trillanes. He claims that the noisy senator profits from hiring many consultants. Trillanes allegedly uses his office to ask for retainers fee and that this has become a lucrative business for him, the president discloses. Making such accusations against him is easy for Trillanes because he has nothing to lose. This is now his last term as senator.
Retired SPO3 Arthur Lascañas reverses his earlier testimony that there’s no such thing as the so-called Davao Death Squad or DDS. Lascañas now publicly confesses and implicates the president to several incidents or murder, contract killings and assassinations when he was still mayor of Davao City. Trillanes cannot hide his joy on SPO3 Lascañas’ revelations but Senator Ping Lacson said that so far, all confessions are still hearsays.
The Hearsays Puzzle People’s Minds
Both the unproven bank accounts and the Davao death squad hearsays can already poison the minds of the people. The dramas behind the testimonies true or not can also influence the public perception towards the president. This is an old trick of the Liberal Party. It is, however, very obvious that the LP is determined to get rid of the president to gain back their leadership in the country through Vice President Leni Robredo – and finally, block Bongbong Marcos from power.

Matobato’s story in the senate is observed to be confused with his surrender and release with regards to his illegal possession of firearm case in Davao. Until the last hearing, h e retains that President Duterte is involved with the Davao Death Squad.
[VIDEO]: Senator Richard Gordon clarifies that the senate failed to prove that President Rodrigo Duterte is involved in Extra-Judicial Killings – video shows the series of events.
Not Afraid of [Death

Senator Richard Gordon Cut it Short
Gordon said he does not approve of the critical remarks of a CHR commissioner against him and the Senate inquiry on extrajudicial killings. Therefore, he did not allow the agency to testify anymore. He tried to revert to the Death Penalty issue but De Lima contested it. However, it was not seconded. Therefore, it was cut short.
