Church in Bad Light after Healing Rally with Notable Anti-Admin Politicians

welcome By:

Elena Grace Flores

Only about 600 people were present inside the church during the recent prayer rally. The Philippine National Police estimates that about 2,000 to 3,500 people joined the procession from the EDSA Shrine to the People Power Monument. Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that the “Lord, Heal Our Land” event should not be taken as a threat to the administration. Present during the mass were Senators Bam Aquino and Antonio Trillanes IV and Magdalo party-list Rep. Gary Alejano. Former vice president Jejomar Binay who is an ally of the President joins the procession to the People Power Monument as a human rights lawyer. He is outnumbered by Senators Franklin Drilon, Rissa Hontiveros, Trillanes, and Aquino who are anti-administration politicians.

Maximum Presidential Tolerance

Roque stresses that President Du30 allows constructive dissent. Those who have grievances have space to protest. “The Church was very clear. It wasn’t political,” said Roque. However, this homily statement of Archbishop Socrates Villegas casts shadows over his non-political claim: “No politician lasts forever; only God does. Turn to the Lord and turn away from destructive politics. Peace to you all! We respect you. We call you Honorable. Be worthy of it,” he said.

Pray for Senseless Killings

The intention to pray for the end of the senseless violence is rightful and the government supports that. However, it is confusing to single out the administration’s drug war that allegedly results to extrajudicial killings. Homicide and murder cases are already part of the country’s history since time immemorial. Crimes of passion, road rages, and gang wars attribute to these unfortunate events.

The Dominance of Catholicism in the Country

The turnout of the event is quite low for a Catholic country. Therefore, doubts are expressed via social media if Catholicism is still a dominant religion in the country. Perhaps, Christianity is but the many factions including the INC, Born Again, Christadelphian, Protestants, Mormons, El Shaddai, and others made it more made the data complicated to determine.

Church Misunderstandings

The misunderstandings are understandable. The venue itself is already controversial. EDSA is known for the People Power Revolution against the late President Ferdinand Marcos. The presence of the LP members also contributes to the controversy. Most of all, false media claims and reports that exaggerate the number of attendees and the use of misleading images just did not help the situation. That put the Catholic Church in a bad light.

Repeat of Plaza Miranda: The President Warns of Sabotage on Sept. 21 Anti-Government Rally

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

On August 21, 1971, at the Liberal Party campaign rally in Plaza Miranda, the square became the scene of two simultaneous grenade attacks. This was considered as the most blatant assault on free speech. Many quarters believed it to be masterminded by the late President Ferdinand Marcos. It led to increased opposition to his administration. The same coalition stages another protest of such kind on Sept. 21 in Luneta which coincides with the Martial Law declaration under Marcos. The President declares it a non-working holiday for government students and workers for their safety.

[VIDEO]: President hints on possible sabotage against the government’s campaigns from drug war fatalities to Trillanes’ allegations just like the late President Marcos’ time.

LP’s Dirty Technique

The Plaza Miranda event itself guaranteed that democratic rights at the time were respected by ex-President Marcos. This is similar to Du30’s move in declaring Sept. 21 as the National Day of Protest. However, just as when Senator Gerardo Roxas, Liberal Party President, was proclaiming his party’s local candidates for the City of Manila, the grenades exploded.  Among those seriously injured were: Roxas, Osmeña, Senators Jovito Salonga, Genaro Magsaysay, Eva Estrada-Kalaw (Nacionalista guest candidate of the LP), and senatorial bets John Henry Osmeña and Ramon Mitra, Jr. Three months later, the polls resulted in a Senate sweep by the Liberals, with only two Marcos allies making it into the winner’s circle. The President’s alter egos. Defense Minister Juan Ponce Enrile and Secretary of Labor Blas Ople were among the losers.

National Day of Protest is for the People’s Safety

Roxas blamed the late President Marcos responsible for the attack at Plaza Miranda. Du30 is very much aware that it can happen again knowing the nature of the yellow faction. Thus, the declaration of the “National Day of Protest” on Sept. 21 which is for the people to exercise their constitutional rights to freedom of speech, peaceful assembly and to seek redress for their grievances against the government, past or present.” No one can accuse the President anymore in suppressing these rights. But the choice is up to the people. They can stay home to be safe or be one of the insurgents if ever.

Rally Safety Measures

Law enforcers are under strict orders to stay away from mass actions and to exercise maximum restraint. They are only to intervene when the rally becomes violent. Emergency assistance near protest sites is also installed just in case. The President’s major concern is mainly for the people’s safety. If this turns out bloody beyond the authority’s control, then it must be a sabotage.

Drug War Sabotage Indications

Du30 speculates that a possible sabotage is happening when it comes to the drug war. All killings related to it or not are now blamed to his tough order for the policemen to defend themselves when their life is at risk while arresting illegal drug offenders. The series of teenager killings where one’s head was covered with masking tape is highlighted in the propaganda of the “Tindig” coalition’s call to join the said event. 3 of these killings also follow the same pattern to discredit the police force.  They are all OFW children, owns a store, and good-looking. These are enough to trigger a public outrage.

Philippine President Weathers Drug War, Nuclear War, and Political War via Martial Law

drug war

welcome By:

Elena Grace Flores

Philippine President Du30 as he is popularly called joins the U.N. to condemn Kim Jung-Un’s world war triggers. Du30 opposes North Korea’s nuclear war threat with Japan. Despite his political war against the Liberal Party supporters who are against his drug war. As the yellow faction plans to gather on September 21, 2017, at the Luneta grand stand to oust him, he retaliates to finally install Martial Law if it turns out to be violent just like Plaza Miranda during the Marcos regime.

[VIDEO]: Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte says he’ll consider the martial law in other parts of the Philippines “in order to protect the people.”

Nationwide Martial Law

The President may declare nationwide martial law next week said Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana. This is if threatened massive protests by communists and other leftists against his rule turn violent or disrupt the country. “He said, if the left will try to have a massive protest, start fires on the streets, they will disrupt the country, then I might declare martial law,” Lorenzana warned. A bloody gathering can be expected based on the rebellious nature of the Aquino inspired group. They can blame the outcome to the current administration to discredit the President just like what happened to the late President Ferdinand Marcos.

Rally can Get Out of Hand

Lorenzana, however, thinks that there’s a slim chance of martial law nationwide declaration because the scheduled protests might not be as big as the organizers wish. “But the president is indeed very concerned because it might get out of hand. So he said he might declare martial law.” “Movement Against Tyranny” announces that it plans to stage its protests on September 21. This is in connection with the 45-year anniversary of the late Marcos’ military rule. The protests would voice opposition against Du30’s drug war.

Nuclear War Threat

Meanwhile, Japan’s public broadcaster issues a government warning that “a missile” has passed over Hokkaido. It landed in the Pacific Ocean. NHK also stated: “The government is advising people to stay away from anything that could be missile debris.” It added that the missile landed “2,000 kilometers (about 1,240 miles) off the cape of Erimo in Hokkaido at around 7:16 AM local time.” The launch comes just hours after the Philippines responded to the United Nations Security Council’s unanimous approval of additional sanctions after North Korea threats to “sink” Japan and reduce the U.S. mainland into “ashes.

Strong Bongbong Marcos Support

The coalition also voices its outrage at Du30s public support for Bongbong Marcos’ electoral protest against V.P. Leni Robredo who is from the Liberal Party. The recount is expected to be complete end of this year. If Marcos’ allegations are true, the president is indeed right that the country may have a new VP in 2018. This serves as a grieve warning to the LP that the son of the late President whom they ousted can come back to haunt them. Not just as VP but as Du30’s successor as he vows to resign when that happens.

Duterte may declare martial law next week—Lorenzana

PAO Chief Acosta Clarifies that the Patterns of Teenager Killings Aim to Discredit the Police

welcome By:

Elena Grace Flores

Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Persida Rueda Acosta denies Senator Risa Hontiveros’ statement that PAO said there are “patterns” in the killings. Acosta clarifies that the similarities in teenager killings actually discredit the police force. They are all children of OFWs, good looking, and have stores in front of their house. It is likely the works of the enemies of the government who are out to destroy the President’s drug war.

[VIDEO]: Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Persida Rueda Acosta denies Senator Risa Hontiveros’ statement that PAO said there are “patterns” in the killings.

The President’s Promise

POLICE officers involved in the slaying of teenagers in Caloocan City will be held accountable if results of the investigation will prove that they commit wrongdoing, President Rodrigo Duterte assured Wednesday. “I really said we will protect the soldiers and policemen. No doubt [about that] but always, there has to be the element of the performance of duty and you do not kill defenseless persons,” Duterte said.

No Order to Kill

“I really said we will protect the soldiers and policemen. No doubt about that but always, there has to be the element of the performance of duty and you do not kill defenseless persons,” Duterte said. “I’m sorry but I will pursue the case against the police and [if] need be, they will go to jail. I did not order to kill a child or an adult, and even the enemy on bended knees. That’s not the norm or the rule of democracy,” he added.

Acosta’s Testimony

Acosta cites the many cases PAO handles that defend various men and women still serving jail sentences. They include men in uniform whose cases are either ongoing or disputed. She begs in tears to have pity on the hard working police officers who are pre-judged. The PAO Chief specifically calls on Hontiveros to refrain from making accusations.

Out to Destroy the Du30 Administration

It is evident that the “yellow” faction follows a familiar process to destroy their political enemies since the Marcos regime. As what Atty. Madrid said on Trillanes who just spews propaganda to get back at the President. The out-of-tune Senator wants to strip Paolo Duterte in public to see his Tattoo to prove his alleged TRIAD affiliation. This is for not choosing him as his running mate in the 2016 presidential elections. Hontiveros who has been anti-Marcos is also critical to the current administration for favoring the Marcoses. The public asks; Does the LP mastermind the killings?

Bongbong Marcos to Supreme Court Retrieval Team: Best Evidence is in the Ballots

Supreme Court

welcome By:

Elena Grace Flores

The Supreme Court that sits as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal forms a team to retrieve the ballot boxes. This is in preparation for the recount in the election protest of former Bongbong Marcos against Vice President Leni Robredo. Marcos said in an interview with Erwin Tulfo that the best evidence is in the ballots. He looks forward to resolving the issue within three months.

Supreme Court Retrieval Team’s Tasks

The team is tasked to locate and examine all ballot boxes in the contested provinces and cities in order to facilitate their retrieval and transport to the SC compound for the revision, according to a PET resolution signed by Clerk of Court Felipa Anama. In the resolution, the PET named lawyers Mercedes Mostajo and Linuel Alindogan of the Office of the Chief Attorney as leaders, Joy Jemima Reyes and Jeffrey Raymond Atienza of the Cash Collection and Disbursement Division as special disbursing officers; and Joery Gayanan and/or any official/employee to be recommended by the Office of the Administrative Services as chief security officer and/or assistant chief security officer.

The Best Evidence

Marcos is pleased by the development. Although, the Supreme Court has yet to order the actual retrieval of the ballots. The storage and recount areas are already set. Marcos is confident that the evidence can determine the actual winner in the 2016 VP race very soon.

Drug War Must Continue

He also backs the President’s drug war because of its extensive effect to the Filipino Society. The problem is massive when police officers and politicians embrace the illegal trade. The drug war must continue to see a big change in the situation.

Strong Enough to Replace Du30

As the chosen successor of Du30, Marcos supports the controversial campaigns of the President. He assures the public that whatever is done is does not violate the laws of the land. The culprits must be punished and abusive people in authority to be prosecuted. This is indeed the realization of the Liberal Party’s fear.
