Unacceptable Policy Shift Triggers Lim to Resign from Comelec

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
CFO head Commissioner Christian Robert Lim confirmed that he is resigning from his post on Monday due ti unacceptable policy shift.

As the commissioner-in-charge of the Campaign Finance Office, he recommended and voted to deny the request of the Liberal Party and its presidential candidate Manuel Roxas II because Republic Act 7166 clearly states that submission of SOCE should be made within 30 days after the elections. He said extension to the deadline means that Comelec should amend the law.

However, four of his colleagues voted otherwise prompting Lim to decide on his immediate resignation which is a noble act in protesting for the right thing to do.
