The Philippine President has been famous for his foul language. Perhaps, that’s the reason why he won the presidency. Therefore, there’s hope for the US that Duterte will swing back to America after his separation speech in Beijing.

[VIDEO]: Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has expressed “regret” after calling US President Barack Obama “son of a whore”, an insult that led to the cancellation of the planned talks between the two leaders.
It doesn’t help to say Anything
“It doesn’t seem to help to say anything because the minute you say something, he just lets loose his barrage of obscenities,” said Murray Hiebert, deputy director of the Southeast Asia Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “I think for the US to just blast him constantly is probably not very effective.”
Expected to Swing Back
Washington suspects that Duterte could swing back to the United States—if it suits his interests. “There is no question that Duterte is…trying to play the well-worn game of playing us off against the Chinese,” a US official said.
Kerry seeking Clarification
State Department spokesman John Kirby said that the United States will seek an explanation from Duterte over his “separation” remarks. But he is careful in criticizing the announcement in Beijing. He limits it by calling the remarks “baffling” and “inexplicably at odds” with close ties between Washington and Manila.
US Diplomacy for the Philippine President
The US is diplomatic enough to understand the nature of the Philippine President. President Barack Obama for one said in the past the Duterte need not apologize in insulting him. Despite the real threat that the country aligns its loyalty now to China, the US is still hopeful – as they have the right to counter offer.
